Happy Summer Everyone! The kids are out of school and I’m ready for some fun in the sun. A quick note to let everyone know that we will be kicking off the season with a camping trip so I will be out of town today through July 5th, and will return all messages, order requests, and session inquires when I return next week. Everyone have a great week and a Happy Canada Day.
For now, I’ll leave you with this beautiful mama to be. Her favourite colour is red and she loves chocolate – now that’s a girl after my own heart! Thanks for the great session you guys. Enjoy your preview and I’ll be in touch after the holiday weekend with your full gallery info.

I’m taking a break from the norm of recent sessions to tell a cool story from our Father’s Day Weekend. And, it’s not even about a dad, but a dear friend and great mom. First off, to my BFFL, forgive me for making you the center of attention, but it was too cool not to share.
The family in the pic below are some of our very best buds and camping cohorts. We spent the weekend with them at Tunnel Mountain in Banff, which was a blast. I have to say that the highlight of our weekend was a hike up to the top of Tunnel Mountain. What so cool about that you say? Well, other than the fact that it’s breathtakingly beautiful, I think it was a check mark on someone’s bucket list.
You see, the mama in this picture was, once upon a time, single and carefree. One of her favorite activities was hiking, and a hike that she did often and loved to share with people was the Tunnel Mountain climb. She told me that over the years, she has a bunch of pictures of her and different people sitting in this “chair tree” at the top of the trail. Now, obviously the three little rugrats in this image give way to fact that “carefree & single” are not words she would use to describe herself today. She is a married mom to 3 year old twin boys and a not quite yet 5 year old little girl. Needless to say, such busy life with 3 little kiddos all so close together in their first years of life are not conducive to hiking up mountains.
She told us the night before when we were making our plans for the hike, that taking her kids to the top of Tunnel Mountain someday and showing them the “chair tree” was a dream. When we started out, she said she didn’t ever think she would see the day that the boys would be old enough and that she could get back to the activity she loves and take her whole family for a mountain hike. But, dare to dream and never say never. Those kiddos were troopers and those little legs made it all the way to the top with very little help from dad and the backup chariot he pushed all the way up. Mom got to show them all the “chair tree”!
Kudos to a great mom and a wonderful friend – no dream is ever too small. Thanks to the Comstocks for a great weekend and a Happy Fathers Day to the two great dads in our camping caravan and to all the other dads I know. Hope you all had a great day!!
